Cozy Soup & Burger
About This Spot
Stepping into Cozy Soup & Burger feels a touch like revisiting a familiar neighborhood spot where time slows just enough for you to savor the moment. Nestled on Broadway in the heart of New York, this diner carries the comforting hum of classic American dining with a sprinkle of old-school charm. The atmosphere is grounded and welcoming—no rush, no pretense, just the gentle buzz of friendly chatter and the inviting scent of hearty meals in the making.
The rhythm here is unhurried, punctuated by the warm hellos of attentive staff who clearly know many of their guests by name, adding a personal thread to the experience. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in after a long day and feel the tension ease as you settle into a booth illuminated by soft, vintage lighting and memories woven into the very walls.
Food at Cozy Soup & Burger is straightforward but thoughtfully crafted, leaning into the comforting classics that feel like a hug on a plate. The soups, whether a rich French Onion or a soul-soothing Split Pea with croutons, invite you to linger, while their burgers—ranging from a straightforward cheeseburger to the adventurous Nacho Burger—are layered with flavors that encourage slow, satisfied bites. There’s a sincere joy in the kitchen’s willingness to pair familiar favorites with touches that surprise without overwhelming, like a special house sauce that elevates fries and burgers alike.
Beyond the food, the space itself cultivates a genuine sense of belonging. It’s the kind of diner where locals come for regular breakfasts, midweek dinners, or casual meet-ups, creating a mosaic of human moments that make the place hum with understated warmth. Whether you’re seated near the window watching Broadway’s passing parade or tucked away in a cozy corner, there’s an intimacy in the experience that feels quietly restorative.
Cozy Soup & Burger is a reminder that some of the best local treasures don’t shout—they welcome with a quiet confidence, inviting you in to create your own connections and memories over a meal that’s both simple and heartfelt.

Nacho Burger! A must-try! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had! I had dinner here a few nights ago, and the atmosphere is very charming with an old-school touch—a true American-style burger joint, worthy of the name. The staff was kind and courteous, and since I couldn’t decide between the various options, I asked for a recommendation. I have to say, I couldn’t have chosen better! Great prices for the area, and the burger was ready in just a few minutes. Highly recommended!

Had a yummy meal at Cozy! And they have this great new sauce that I think is great for burgers and fries. I will be back for more!

The Split Pea Soup!!! Phenomenal, hearty, delicious. Brought it to my cousin who is recovering from an accident in the hospital and he asked to have it brought to him again tomorrow!! Said it was the best soup he ever had. I think it has healing, energizing, life-giving powers because he looked so happy eating this soup.

This place was amazing. John was so friendly & welcoming. Food came out quickly. Burgers, fries, & chicken tenders all 10/10. Ask for John’s special sauce, it won’t disappoint. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing people. We will be back next time we are in NY!

Johnny was so welcoming and amazing. The Burgers, mozzarella sticks and the turkey club was amazing. It’s quaint and cozy. The atmosphere lives up to the name. The Greek cuisine is authentically good. I’ll be back for those meatballs. The special sauce was delicious!

Friendly and thoughtful service. Very nice no-frills classic American diner style burger with very thick patties. I liked it a lot. I will be back here.

Eating here should be mandatory. This family owned and operated diner is one of my favorite places to eat in NY. The price alone of the food is unmatched. But then there is the actual food, delicious, made to order, done with pride and care, and served up by staff and owners who treat you like family. Stop by and get the pea soup, and a burger!

Amazing local diner vibe not overrun with tourists. Fast and efficient energy (in the best way possible). Extensive menu. French onion soup and the pizza burger were pretty good. Wish the fries were crispier. Feels like you’re transported to the 70s/80s. Very refreshing establishment.
